Rising alternative indie-pop quartet Easy Tears are making waves once again with their brand-new single, ‘Honest’ - a shimmering, emotionally raw track that cements their status as one of the UK’s most exciting new acts.
Formed in London in early 2024, the band - fronted by vocalist/guitarist Lewis Goswell, alongside guitarist Kenny Botting, drummer Frazer Stanford, and bassist David Djukic - hit the ground running with their debut release, ‘The Avenue’. That breakout track quickly drew attention from BBC Introducing, earning a spot on their coveted ‘Orbit’ music discovery platform and kickstarting a groundswell of support.
Produced by Sam Winfield (Fickle Friends, Amber Run), ‘Honest’ expands the band’s lush sonic universe. Reverb-soaked guitar textures float above a tight, new-wave-inspired bassline and thunderous drums, pulling inspiration from artists like The Smiths, War On Drugs, and Cocteau Twins - all while carving out a sound unmistakably their own.
At its core, ‘Honest’ explores the ache of unrequited love - but with a modern, bittersweet twist. “There’s a million songs about heartbreak,” says Goswell, “but I wanted this one to hit different. It’s about falling for someone famous - someone you can never really have - and how they never fully leave your life because they’re always there, on billboards, in magazines, on posters… it’s haunting.”
With a recent run of UK summer shows under their belt - including a standout set at the Marshall-curated Hanwell Hootie Festival and support slots for indie legends Ash - Easy Tears show no signs of slowing down. The band will return to the road later this year in support of ‘Honest’, with another single due before the end of 2025.
